How do I access ftp using an IP address rather than a domain address?

You would just put the IP address into the server field in the FTP program. To find out the IP address you can use ping which will resolve this for you, in Windows load a command prompt (Type "cmd" in run) then type "ping hostname" and it will tell you the IP, replacing hostname with the name you wish to find out the ip address of.

Sun's IP is 94.76.198.168 so you can use that.
