Can you tell us what score ASSP uses to qualify a message as spam.
I am getting some messages through that are def spam, and the score does not go above 34.
An example below:

X-Assp-Score: 2 (Extreme Bad History for 212.100.250.11)
X-Assp-Score: 34 (Bayesian Probability: 1.0000)
X-Assp-Spam-Prob: 1.00000

Forwarding to assp-spam is not helping to recognise most of these as spam.

I could set up some filters for these , but as they are using numerous addresses this could be a pain.

Is there a way of bringing the qualifying score down some more, so more of this spam is recognised and dealt with.

We can't lower the score any further without triggering an undesirable number of false positives. ASSP uses a score of 45.

Try the ASSP delaying option. It is a powerful option, but may delay some email in coming through straight away when sent.

Please also remember that no spam solution is perfect. There will always be some false positives, some spam that gets through etc ASSP does a remarkably good job in both of these areas.

Hi Andrew.

I normally do use the delaying function, and this does stop some of the spam, but there is some, from various addresses that get the delay but come through in the end. I will try one or two filters on the persistant ones.

You mention the delaying filter, and I said I have used it for about a month, but I have noticed that No logs are working.
I thought that this might be because of using the dealing filter so I did turn the delaying filter off a couple of days ago, but there are still no logs availabe. Apart from the RAW log .
Is there a reason for this.

I see that the logs aren't working in some cases. This is not expected behaviour, I will email the developers to see what they say.

Thanks,

Andrew

Tony,

The developers have got back to us. The issue here is that on your server we are using a newer version of ASSP that has a slightly changed log format. ASSP Deluxe's frontend is yet to be updated to support this new format. The developers predict support for this in August/September.

The reason we are using a newer version of ASSP at the moment is that we've found it actually performs a lot better than the older versions both in spam detection and raw speed terms.

The raw log still works and others aspects of the frontend are fully functional.

Thanks,

Andrew
