Okay, I have an SQL database that is accessed via PHP and retrieves the location of an image on the server.
The PHP code then resizes the image in flight before displaying on the page.
How much bandwidth is used? The size of the original image or the resized one?
And an aside question, does the database lookup carry any overhead on bandwidth? I'm guessing not as it's all local? _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |

Z,
If all of these access requests are internal to the server then there will be no bandwidth usage.
Naturally when someone downloads the now resized image from your website bandwidth is used. That bandwidth will correspond to the size of the resized image.
Thanks,
