I'm bad at billing people and I really need to fix this. I just never seem to get around to it and then I'm embarrassed to send them bills that have accumulated over time. I need some sort of solution to both keep track and help issue the bills - preferably as PDF invoices. Any ideas?
Thanks

I installed and had a play with MyClientBase. It allows you to set up client and item details and use those to create invoices which are stored in the DB, and then export them as PDFs, and then log payments against each invoice as they come in but that is about it. There's no automation or calendar/reminder functionality and if there was that would sell it to me. Unfortunately I found it to be far too simplistic to offer me much in the way of time saving or better organisation. On the upside, it is free and is continually being improved so maybe I will revisit it in future.
I may try and write some simply reminder / auto-invoice generation app. Ideally I want something to auto-generate the invoice on a specified frequency and email it to me so I can press the final button to send it after checking. PHP does PDF generation so I'm tempted to give it a go. It's writing all the code to create the forms and read/write the data into the DB that's putting me off. Perhaps I'll look for a solution that does the database/SQL code creation bit for me. If I get time!!! |

Not exactly what you want, but I use a plugin for firefox ReminderFox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1191 copied from their blurb | Quote: | | ReminderFox displays and manages lists of reminders and ToDo's. ReminderFox makes sure you remember all of your important dates via easy-to-use lists, alerts, and alarms, right in your browser without the need for a separate calendar program. |
I have this set to remind me of upcoming events that need billing for and you can specify frequencies etc and it pops up every time you start FF if you have an upcoming event until you mark that event as completed.
Enough waffle, give it a go. |
