Would it be possible to lock Cpanel log on to an ip address? I have been a mod of forums in the past which have been compromised by someone accessing cpanel.
Or, is there anything in place which would "lock access" after a number of attempts which would require some other form of authentication to gain access?
Other than a huge htaccess file, is there a way the host may block access other than from UK? If not, is a mega access file going to cause a problem?
Thanks! |

Hi,
cPanel doesn't offer IP restriction for logins. We have a firewall that blocks an IP after multiple failed cPanel attempts.
.htaccess blocking is the only way I know. It won't be a problem to use a large .htaccess.
Thanks,

Hi,
Many thanks for swift answer. So I guess your firewall would prevent anyone attempting to run a script to access cpanel leaving the /admincp folder the weak link. I guess a regular change of strong password is the way with this.
Thanks |

That sounds like a smart move
