I was thinking last night, do other designers worry about whether the end user has Javascript turned off or Flash not installed. If you do what do you do? Have an alternate site?
And what about IE6, has anyone taken the step forward and not bothering about making sure a site still works using IE6? _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |

If my site works on my PC, then thats good enough for me.....
I don't have the ability to specifically design a site for all the various browsers and versions. If it works on others, then its more by chance than by design! _________________ Photographer extra extraordinaire... |

This has been significantly influenced by the fact that I know of several major UK corporations with large user bases that still use IE6. However most of those have, or are in the process of, rolling out IE8 now. Windows Mobile using IE6 was also a consideration. With the release of IE8 I think people have finally woken up to IE6 being out of date and from now on I won't be developing for it specifically. Having said that, I dont think it'll make all that much difference in the short term - I reckon most of my pages will still work in IE6 reasonably well (c'mon IE9 and CSS3! ). |

Yes, corporates still seem to be clinging on for the moment.
My latest own site has a small layout problem with IE6 but it doesn't make a huge difference so I'm not going to worry about it lol. It was bad enough getting IE7/IE8/FF/Opera to get over any niggles. _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |
