All my database tables seem to have disappeared apart from one - and that one is running very slowly...!

When I log in to phpMyAdmin the databases are there, but they have no tables, which might explain why some of my sites aren't working properly. Any ideas?

Hi,

What sites? What databases? MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Thanks,

Andrew

They are MySQL databases.

As an example, one is at the site newmediaworkshop.co.uk (which is set up in wordpress).

The databases is gjserver_newmedia.

On phpMyAdmin it shows the database, but under the structure tab it says there are no tables (which there must be for the site to work...!)

The pages were reporting 404 errors half an hour ago, but now seem to be back in spite of the database error. Strange.

Hi,

This is odd. I can see your databases and tables without issue in phpMyAdmin.

MySQL does not appear to have restarted. I have manually restarted it now just in case it's doing something odd here.

Let me know if this happens again.

Thanks,

Andrew

It gets ever more curious....

The MySQL errors are still there - the databases are showing as empty when I use Firefox...

If I log in using IE8 - it's all ok.....

But why that should be when I have always used Firefox is weird....

Thanks anyway

Hi,

I've just logged in with Firefox and it all loads correctly for me. Perhaps it's an extensions issue?

Good luck.

Andrew

I think I've discovered the issue.....

I installed Copernic Desktop Search the other and that installs an add-on to Firefox

When I disable that add-on, everything works OK...

Strange but true....

Thanks for your rapid attention to something that wasn't down to you. Very impressive.

Kind Regards

Graham

Graham,

Hmm that is an odd one! No idea why they'd interfere. Glad you've got to the root of the problem.

Thanks,

Andrew
