I've got a client that's in the process of transferring their .com domain to you. Their website is www.kits-n-bits.com.

The web hosting package was set up a couple of weeks ago and at the time a request was made to transfer the domain (part of your sign-up process).

The domain transfer should have proceeded any time after 10.30pm on Tuesday.

Now I see from their client area pages that the domain is active (not Pending or Expired). Does this mean that the transfer has occurred?

The reason I ask this is that the domain still refers to the old web server (still active).

Is there anything further that has to be done, or do we need to wait? For example, do I need to do anything to the DNS settings? If so, how do I find out which server is hosting the domain?

Also, I receive a warning in my browser about certificates when I log in. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Finally, I tried to register as a community user, but the CAPTCHA image would not load. (It loads on this page!)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

The domain did successfully transfer into our care and we emailed you to notify you of this. We do not update nameservers automatically as not all clients wish for this, so we leave it as is.

You can update the nameservers to the ones sent to you in your welcome email via the client area at any time. Once you've changed the nameservers it typically takes 12-24 hours for the change to propagate around the net.

You get the warning because we have self-signed the certificate. Your connection is still encrypted.

Yes sometimes it does take a few refreshes to get the captcha image to show, this prevents a lot of spam bots from being able to register (as it's not something they're expecting).

Hope that helps,

Andrew
