E-mail accounts during domain transfer

I've just signed up to NetHosted and am in the process of transfering a domain.

I've sent a test e-mail to an e-mail account on my domain and (as expected) it has been received on my current (old) web host since the transfer has not completed.

I've also sent another test e-mail from my NetHosted web mail account to the same e-mail address. This has not been received on my current (old) web host.

Is this the expected behaviour during transition?

How long will the domain transfer take?

Once the transfer has completed, will all mail to my domain be received on my NetHosted account?

The e-mail stayed on the new server - that's OK.

Hi,

Welcome to NetHosted!

This is expected behaviour. As our server sees that it hosts your domain it delivers mail locally.

Once you've authorised the domain transfer the only delay is the time it takes your old registrar to release the domain to us. We've had this complete in a few hours but it typically takes a few days.

Once the transfer completes and you've updated the nameservers all mail will come to our servers.
