I've been playing about with a possible small application for the company I work for. Basically its a system for providing quick links to various locations around the internet / intranet / company computer network.
All the coding would be situated on everyones C drive of their laptop or desktop, with a desktop shortcut to launch it and it needs to run within Internet Explorer.
So I've built effectively what is a webpage in Dreamweaver and it runs perfectly on my home desktop and laptop. They run IE9 and IE8 respectively. On the page there is a background image, then placed on top of this there is a series of buttons and a couple of logo's.
This is where the problem starts, at work we run IE7, upgrading this is not an option. Now even thou the page loads and all the buttons work etc, all the buttons for the quick links are about a page width to the right for some reason?
Is there a piece of simple code I can use to correct the formatting for IE7?
As always, please don't make replies too complicated as otherwise I won't understand...... _________________ Photographer extra extraordinaire... |

| The first place I'd look is at any CSS code - which I'm assuming is the culprit here based on my past experience. It could be down to differences in the way that the CSS box model is handled by different browser versions. I suggest posting some code, or a link to a page. Remove anything company specific if you have to. |

I actually managed to sought this out late, very late last night; so the proof of concept works.
However, I've now been tasked with completely changing the design of the thing, as they like how it works etc.
Its been a head scratching task, but I'm enjoying playing about with coding etc. I know I'll never be an expect but its fun doing what I'm doing. _________________ Photographer extra extraordinaire... |

nah use IE9 or IE8, press F12 and use one of the Browser modes. Forget about IE6, even Microsoft have now. _________________ Getting the hang of it slowly (subject to comment) |
