FTP _IE

Trying to help a friend of mine who just subscribed to one of your hosting packages.

He is trying to access his webspace via IE. In his browser, I am getting him to type (I am on the phone to him)

ftp://hisdomainname.com

which he does but is getting an error message from the browser, I think it was 404. Also, after he hits 'go' the URL in his browser is by all accounts also changing to

ftp://ftp.hisdomainname.com

With my hosting when I do the same to access my webspace, I subsequently get a 'log on as' box opening prompting for user name and pasword.

It seems from having read other threads on this forum that it is possible to access nethosted's webspace via IE.

Is your webspace browser sensitive, Java sensitive, other?????????

Anything to suggest, as I recommended you guys to him and I am getting fed up trying to overcome this issue.

Any info much appreciated.

Hi,

I suspect IE does not support secure FTP via TLS therefore we don't support it on our NetHosted Platform packages for FTP access.
