How to transfer SQL database from old hosts to Nethosted?

Hi all

Apologies if this is a stupid question but, how can I get my database from my old hosts to here? They use PHPMyAdmin but, whenever I attempt to do anything, it just exports empty zip files...

Hi,

Perhaps if you take a full backup of your site via the old hosts control panel a database file will be included in this backup?

They're not being particularly helpful and their control panel is pretty primitive. Has anyone got any step by step instructions I can use once in PHPMyAdmin?
