| |
Hello,
I have an installation of Concrete5 that I am in the process of deleting. I am having difficulty deleting one of the folders (it happens to be the files folder in the root directory).
The ownership of the files in the folder is different from the folder itself.
This appears to be an issue with how Concrete5 handles files and specifically the ownership that it leaves the files with.
Is this a general problem with the running of Concrete5 scripts (I also see similar ownership patters in my Wordpress installation) and what is the most streamlined way to handle these files in the future?
Thanks |

Hi,
This is due to the server you are on running PHP via mod_php. This causes files and folders created by PHP to be owned by the PHP user, not your username.
Our NetHosted Platform comes with a more advanced PHP implementation that eliminates this problem. As you are on a server that is going to be migrated on the 21st of March you will soon not have to worry about this sort of thing as the new server will run the same PHP as the NetHosted Platform.
If you need me to delete any files please send in a ticket.
Thanks,

Hello Andrew,
Thanks very much for that. Hopefully this will also solve some oddities in the way updates occour in Wordpress.
Colin will be sending in a ticket to have the directory deleted.
Is there anything that I should be concerned about or precautions taken with my current script installations (such as wordpress) when the server change takes place?

Brian,
Colin should be able to guide you through the upcoming migration process. We only provide support to direct clients of ours.
Thanks,
