Some years ago, I bought my name as a .com but I've never done much with it apart from a bit of email and redirecting to a personal webpage on google. It's currently registered with a US company and expires on 20 July.

I'd now like to start learning more about web page design to improve my career prospects and have read some good reviews of your hosting service.

My question is, how would I go about using my existing domain with your service? Do I sign up for hosting with you and transfer the domain to yourselves? What about the renewal which needs to be done within 15 days? Is there time to transfer it and then renew it through you or should I renew with the other company and then transfer?

Hi,

You can transfer your domain to us when you place your order which will also renew the domain, to do this you will need to request for your existing registrar to unlock your domain and provide you with the EPP transfer code. You will be prompted for this code when you place your order.

Transfers are typically completed within 7 days of ordering so there should be plenty of time to get this sorted out before the domain expires.

Is there a Windows option or is it Linux hosting only? I'd like to investigate both asp.net and php.

Our hosting is Linux only so we do not offer asp.net, PHP is available.
