I have been experimenting with this with a view to using it in anger. Currently just playing with the Paypal standard gateway but the transaction is not completing and has to be completed manually before any products can be downloaded.

Turned on debugging and the log file shows the above which indicates that the Paypal IPN message is getting through.

Folks seem to suggest that sometimes this may not work for various reasons, including firewall or the fact that fsockopen is not supported on the server.

Is there any way to log the http requests/responses when trying to talk to Paypal? Has anyone else ever used or tried to use Woocommerce? Has anyone ever had issues with Paypal and overcome them?

Hi,

Just to confirm I can see nothing in the logs suggesting anything our end is blocking this. The debug log showing the PayPal callback has been successfully received also suggests things are ok. It seems it's the software itself that's not interpreting this callback correctly and taking the appropriate action. fsockopen is enabled.
