I keep on getting asked by a few people as to when I'll be putting a blog onto my site. I'm not sure why anyone would want to read something like that, as I don't think I have that much to say really.
However, I did have a look a Wordpress as it seems to be the choice most people go for. After a bit of head scratching and playing about with various settings which didn't seem to do anything (my lack of knowledge with these things), I did wonder how much effort does it take to keep these things upto date. Now, I'm not talking about blog postings, I'm thinking more of the technical side. Security updates and other types of house keeping etc?
Is it worth the effort for me, a person who stumbles around by trial and error, or should I link in a 'Blogger' weblog I'm playing about with?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ian,
Installatron in cPanel can install WordPress and keep it's core up to date. It would be your job to ensure you keep the WordPress plugins you choose to you up to date but WordPress makes this a very simple process.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this then there is no issue using a third party blog platform such as blogger.
Thanks,

Andrew,
Thanks for that.
I've been having a play using the Essence theme, but for love nor money I cannot find out where you change the colour of the permalinks; at the moment they are a blue colour but I want them white.
If anyone can point me in the right direction of where to look or better still what coding to change I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well I've cheated a little, as I just couldn't find out where / how to change the colour of the permalinks; I installed a different 'theme'.
After further tweaking, head scratching and more tweaking plus creating a 'child theme', I've got most of it done I think; there's a bit of black text I want grey and then ta daaaa!
Then it will all fall over because I've missed something completely.... but hey ho, having fun whilst trying!
