You can find your servername in the Welcome Email or by contacting support.

You can also just access via https://yourdomain.com:2083 for example for cPanel but you will receive an SSL warning because the certificate won’t match your domain name, in some browsers you can permanently accept the certificate so the warning won’t come up in future.

Once you have done this you should choose the New button highlighted below, then click Next.

You should then check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types box and choose Next.

The Internet E-mail radio button should be selected, choose Next.

You then need to enter your email account details, these should look similar to those shown below. You can substitute the incoming and outgoing mailserver to servername.solardns.com to avoid certificate warnings, e.g. venus.solardns.com. If you wish to use IMAP instead of POP3 be sure to change this in the Account Type dropdown. Once you have filled this in choose More Settings as highlighted.

From here select the Outgoing Server tab and check the box My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. The radio button Use same settings as my incoming mail server should be highlighted.

Select the Advanced tab next and set it to the settings shown below:

Once this is done click OK, you have entered all the necessary settings now so click next and your account is set up in Outlook.

For the domain you will be pointing to Google Mail you should enter the following MX records:

Priority: 1 to: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

Priority: 2 to: ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

Priority: 3 to: ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

Priority: 4 to: ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.

Priority: 5 to: ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.

Priority: 6 to: ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.

Priority: 7 to: ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.

Please note the trailing . this is essential.

The above instructions are in full compliance with the official Google instructions and have been adapted to work with cPanel.

IMPORTANT: The above changes will require 24 hours to propagate and take effect. After that your mail will be handled exclusively by Google Mail.

If you have previously installed cPanel Proxy and are having this problem please contact support and we can uninstall this and setup the new cPanel feature on your account for you.

Once this is done you should then set the MX record to point at this A record, as follows:

0 MX mail.yourdomain.com.

You should not set the MX record to an IP address directly as this is incorrect, an MX record is meant to point to a hostname and can behave incorrectly when pointed to an IP address. If you are using NetHosted nameservers and you wish to make this change simply submit a ticket explaining this with the external mailserver IP and we will make this change for you. This applies to shared hosting accounts, if you have a reseller hosting account you can make this change yourself via your WHM hosting account.

If it tells you that you IP is blacklisted it will also give you a reason, and the appropriate steps for you to take to get this removed from the blacklist.

ISPs that block their clients from sending using other mailservers are typically based in North America however this trend is increasing in Europe too.

To login to your master account you can use your cPanel hosting username which will allow you to access all email accounts on your cPanel account.

Mail is supported via a secure SSL connection, you must select the SSL option for both your incoming and outgoing mailserver in your email client. You must also enable SMTP Authentication to send mail through our servers as part of our spam prevention measures.

Using advanced settings allows you to specify further hosts that your SPF record authorises to send mail from, this adds these hosts to the DNS zone file.
