Hi

My first question is are the custom nameservers that come with a professional reseller package automatically set up with the account?

Also is it possible for us to register a domain with you on behalf of a client and use our nameservers to point to the ip of the server they will be running the site from? Basically we made a site for them but they didn't want to pay us for hosting it.

Thanks

Hi,

The custom nameservers are not automatically setup, they require nameserver glue to be set at the registrar end, if you submit a support ticket we can give further details on doing this.

It's fine to register a domain for a client using our nameservers and then edit the DNS zone to point it at another IP.

Regards,

Darryl

I'm trying to register the domain now. In the shopping cart under domain registrant information clicking on 'Add new contact' doesn't do anything. Is it supposed to?

Thanks

Hi,

When you click Complete Order after changing it to new contact you will be prompted for new contact details, thanks.

Hi

We've registered the new domain. Will it come under "Edit DNS zone" in WHM or do we have to add a DNS zone?

Thanks

Hi,

You should create an account for the domain which will create the DNS zone which you can then edit. It's fine to set the account limits very small for this as it won't be used, I would say this is the easiest way, it is possible to create the DNS zone manually though if you prefer.

Regards,

Darryl
