I'm looking at setting up SSL on one of my sites but have a couples of questions.

1. The reseller package I use has 2 IP addresses with it, I assume I would need one of those for SSL.
2. The SSL I'm looking at I would get from elsewhere, I assume that wouldn't be a problem?

Hi,

1. Correct.
2. That's no problem at all, we'd still need to generate the CSR for signing the SSL. We'd need you to send in a ticket with the following information:

Email: This should be a site contact email
SSL Hostname: This is the *exact* URL of the site to make the certificate for e.g. https://www.domain.com/ or https://domain.com/ or https://secure.domain.com/ etc
City:
State:
Country (2 letter abbreviation): GB
Company Name:
Company Division:

Thanks,

Andrew

Great, thanks. It's not for a company though so wouldn't have that info.

Hi,

It's fine to put "NA" in any fields that don't apply to you, but we will still need it filled out to be able to create the SSL certificate.

Regards,

Jack

Hi,

Please provide the certificate chain (intermediate certificate) via a support ticket, most likely this was not provided to us when the SSL certificate was setup, sometimes this is required for external SSL certificates to be fully validated. Your SSL provider should be able to provide you with this, it may have been supplied when your SSL certificate was provided to you.

Regards,

Darryl

Tried adding the above at the end of my .htaccess file but didn't seem to work. Should it go at the end or the beginning?

Hi,

Apologies for the delay.

I've added the code to the top of your .htaccess which has worked, but incurs a redirect loop. I've attempted commenting out some of your other lines and it still occurs. Could you check your Forum board URL settings to see if this is set to HTTPS or HTTP?

Regards,

Jack

Hi,

No problem.

Seems to be working fine that way, glad that you've sorted it!

Regards,

Jack
