hi. I need to redirect a subdomain ( store.barnevelders.net ) back to the new updated store on the main domain in the online_store folder. I know i can use the redirect in Cpanel but that seems a bit of a blunt instrument as it just redirects everything to the new homepage. Is there an easy way to 301 using htaccess |

Hi, Can you confirm what URL needs to redirect to what? store.barnevelders.net to barnevelders.net/online_store/ ? If not you can always edit the folder store.barnevelders.net accesses from store/ to online_store/. To do this simply go to the sub-domains section in cPanel and there is an icon next to public_html/store/ with a little pencil if you click on that you can edit the path. Hope this helps! I was thinking of redirecting each url with something like this Redirect /olddirectory/oldfile.html http://example.com/newdirectory/newfile.html . so : http://www.store.barnevelders.net/?q=co ... ching-eggs would reditect to: http://www.barnevelders.net/online_stor ... ching-eggs |

I have worked out how to add them 1 at a time from the cpanel. |

Hi, I can't really think of any true efficient way to do this as you could 301 permanent redirect but you would have to do that with every URL you wished to forward. (Presumably what you have just started doing in cPanel?) I would personally think it would look better if the URL remained store.domain rather than /online_store/ Regards, Jack |

I only need to redirect 10 or so url's so it won't be to time consuming. "I would personally think it would look better if the URL remained store.domain rather than /online_store/" Is that just your preference on the url ? , I wanted to bring the store back into the main domain to simplify the admin a bit. It should also help it rank a bit as it won't be splitting the Pagerank etc over two domains |

Hi, Yes, that's just my personal preference. But it could be worse SEO wise (store.domain.com), I'm no expert on SEO so I couldn't really comment on that side of it. Kind Regards, Jack |
