Hi Garry,

Off the top of my head:

IMAP Pros:
Accessible anywhere.
Stored on Server.

IMAP Cons:
Disk Space Usage
Downloading all emails on a new client

POP3 Pros:
Stored locally once retrieved from server so doesn't use disk space on the server.

POP3 Cons:
Emails are not stored on server, so emails are not easily transfered across devices.

I'm sure there are a lot more pros and cons that you could find if you done a simple Google, but I personally would always pick IMAP over POP3.

Regards,

Jack

Hi,

The default behaviour can be changed, that's true, though we find that most people are unaware of this and extra steps in their mail clients to set this up can sometimes be a little confusing. It's all down to personal preference at the end of the day, if one works better for you than the other then that's awesome, we're certainly not going to tell you otherwise!

Kind Regards,
Bret[/quote]

The default behavior of most email client software is to leave on server, older versions of evil that is Outlook were always set to remove on download. IMAP gets pushed over POP3 because its a newer protocol, but POP has it's place if setup well.
