I'm trying to install a Drupal distribution that looks to have a not very well coded installation script - I suspect it's exceeding the PHP max_execution_time ... would this PHP error get reported anywhere? I can't seem to find it, nor how to increase the time limit - or perhaps that's not so straightforward these days??

Thanks!

Hi,

Could you open a ticket please with details, including the domain this is regarding? We'll then investigate this for you.

Kind regards,
Brad

For the benefit of others, Brad kindly increased the PHP max_execution_time :)

I still have a question as to where PHP errors/server errors and the like go - they used to appear in the cPanel Error log but nothing is showing :(

[edit] I suspect I am trying to do something that requires PHP 5.4 or higher but the lack of an error message means this is little more than an informed guess

Hi,

Glad to hear Brad could help!

All software will log these in different places generally. I'd advise checking your specific software to see if it has error logging enabled and where these would be logged. By default, the error_log should be created and updated within the same folder that the pages/software is running in. I can see that many other sites have error_logs functioning as expected so this alternative behaviour may well be down to a configuration option somewhere within your site/plugins/software.

Kind Regards,
Bret

Thanks Bret, what is making me wonder is that none of our Drupal sites have written anything to an error_log file for about a year. It may be connected with our slightly antiquated account/setup. ;)

I'll probably open a ticket to take this further,
