Hi.
Are you experiencing problems with email on SUN. Mail client on PC is just timing out and cannot recieve on my mobile either, yet your Status page is showing No problems.

Hi Tony,

Are you still experiencing issues, I've had a look through the logs and I can't see any issues at our end, I have also checked your IP and it's not blocked at the firewall.

I can see from the logs thought that connections from your IP to Sun stopped at 04:35:59 this morning, that was the last one and since then there have been no connections from your IP. This may suggest there is some blocking at your end, does your router run a firewall do you know? If so I'd try disabling this and restarting the router.

If this does not help you can try running a traceroute to 213.129.84.44 and see if this gives any more information as to what the issue is here, either posting the results here or via PM/support ticket.

Tony,

Ah right I'd agree that sounds like a local issue then with your connection, just to confirm from our end we don't run any firewall blocking for IP addresses targetted at individual ports, our IP blocks are serverwide so no services would work if the block was from our end.

Hopefully you can get this resolved but if you need any further assistance from our end just let us know.

Tony,

I've had a further look but still cannot see or reproduce any issue here, I have tested mail myself on Sun email accounts and it's working without issue as I can see it is for other users too, it's hard to know what to advise further here.

Could you try testing disabling SSL in your mail client, and setting the port for SMTP to 25 and IMAP to 143 and see if that makes any difference?

Tony,

That does sound odd, as mail.mallen.co.uk and sun.solardns.com both point to exactly the same IP so from our side the connection from yourself is identical. The only difference that I would expect from your side is you may get an SSL certificate mismatch warning using mail.mallen.co.uk as the SSL is for sun.solardns.com.

Either way I'm glad that you have it working at least!

As a final post to this problem , after changing to mail.mallen.co.uk and finding that that was the only way to connect to the server, then 24 hours later I tried changing back to sun.solardns.com and it now connects on this again.
Just cannot understand why .
