Hi,

I have a domain name, and the DNS Zone is with a 3rd party and not point to the NH nameservers.

mx 10 = Another server
mx 20 = NH MX 1
mx 30 = NH MX 2

So it would use NH email servers as a backup if the Another server is down and as the DNS is somewhere else, that will be up.
Would this work?

I know I have to setup the account on my reseller account and what not.
As I said a bit odd.

Hi Garry,

Yes, this would work fine. Should your first MX entry be unavailable for some reason it would proceed to try the next MX entry.

The only thing to note is that on our server the delivery route would need to be set to Local for this to work, should anyone on our server try to send an email to you it would be delivered to locally instead of the first MX entry.

Regards,

Jack
