I wonder if you could feed this suggestion back to the creators of Installatron.

When using Installatron to clone a Drupal site, it would be very useful if the cloned site could have its Drupal caches cleared as part of the cloning process.

I just cloned one of my sites (on Mercury) and when I opened the site I got some very strange error messages, which I was able to clear by logging in to the newly cloned site (as administrator) and navigating to the Performance screen which has a 'Clear all caches' button, which cleared the strange error messages. It would be very useful if Installatron could have done this already, so I wonder if you would consider making this suggestion to the creators of Installatron, to be available in a future version.

Thanks
Mark B)

Hi Mark,

The installatron creators have their own suggestion forum where you can put this idea forward: http://installatron.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

The creator Phil posts there so will see your suggestion himself.

Regards,

Darryl

I applied to their forum for an account but it never got approved.

I have just run into this problem again, ie that I used Installatron to clone an existing Drupal installation and then visited the cloned installation and it was a complete mess until I was able to clear the cache (ie empty all of the tables whose names were "cache_*", assuming there is no table prefix of course). Maybe there should simply be a checkbox to clear the Drupal cache on the cloned site, which should be checked by default.

Please would you make this suggestion on my behalf, as they may never approve my account on their forum.

Thanks
Mark

Wow!

When will you be installing that version on Mercury?

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Hopefully we'll be able to update Installatron shortly after they release their update.

Regards,

Jack
