After a year in testing is now generating 100,000 page views per year. This may not sound like a lot, but there are only so many people interested in Gosport. In comparison, the Portsmouth News has a readership of 20,000 people a day, I'm getting about 18,000 uniques in a year so it's on par, and yes I've excluded the erroneous pages Mambo generates. After deciding I wasn't going to do image galleries, I know have galleries. After deciding on using newsletters, I'm not doing newsletters. After deciding on YouTube, I'm using Stage6. I am the man without a plan. I'm now recognised as an information provider by Hamsphire Constabulary, Hampshire County Council and Gosport Borough, the latter being the hardest, which gives me credibility in the market place. Now the hard bit, to get people to give me money to keep it going. |

cool, well done, it looks good too and I'm sure that helps. shame the council etc can't sponsor you something. You're advertising all the shops already? so I guess they now won't want to pay. Maybe you can expand and offer a site for shops to have. Use a simple template to offer a cheap way of them getting on the web? If it's just one page and you charge something like £50 and get many of them then everyone is happy? |

Any chance this title can be changed so it doesn't start with a number - thus preventing the thread going backwards in time? How about 'Over 100,000 reasons to be happy' as we've now ensured that is the case. Regards, Pete |

Looks professional, I like it. Nice to see Joomla in it's intended role, unlike my pathetic effort to make a personal site using Mambo ![]() |
