Thank God I dont deal with IIS7 everyday.

Just had the worst slowest day dealing with a windows hosting.
Thank God again we are on Linux for most of our sites!!!

if it helps anyone the IIS7 equivalent of .htaccess is called web.config & most people in other support companies have never heard of it before.

I am so grateful to be on Linux with Nethosted. What normally would take 5 minutes to fix with Nethosted, has taken 5 hours of back & forth with another company.

Hi Carlos,

Argh! Sounds like you've had a frustrating day. I've not had any experience of the Windows side of hosting personally, hopefully your tip can save someone else hours of pain! :)

Andrew

Hello Andrew,
Believe it or not 5 hours was the short manual route via web.config. If I had taken the other companies advise, I would still be going through loads of settings spread across multiple control panel pages.

Windows server 2008 R2 with plesk and IIS7 installed - feels more like a brick superglued to your back than a web control panel.

:o)
Carlos

Time to relax now I'd say!

Yes you are right - Time to rest & relax, back to something more relaxing.

Just waiting for delivery of my Udoo (then I will be in heaven), It is like a suped up Rasberry Pi with ARM & SAM procs, bolted on to an Arduino 77 GPIOs piuns, crossed with Ubuntu & Android, running node.js.

There is nothing better googling the hell out of something I Knew nothing about yesterday.n

Does not sound very relaxing, but the Udoo is the latest geek toy.

Sounds great to me! I know Bret loves his Raspberry Pi so I wonder what he'll make of the Udoo :)
