Hi,

I am looking at your Xtreme Plan but have a few questions regarding the features.

1) With the wordpress installation through Fantastico can you add plug-ins?

2) I have 4 domains hosted with 1 & 1 who also do my hosting however I would like to keep my domains with 1 & 1 because of my exchange account hosting I have with them. WOuld it be possible to just point the domains to a nethosted account and have them point to 4 seperate sites on my account?

3) Is support 24x7 and UK based? (Had big problems with 1 & 1 support)

4) Any plans to introduce MS Exchange hosting?

5) can sub domains be pointed to other folders ie could sub1.domain.com be pointed to a different folder on the server?

6) What is a Parked Domain and an Add-on Domain?

Hope these questions make sense.

Many Thanks

Gareth :)

Gareth,

Thanks for your interest in NetHosted!

1) Not via Fantastico itself, but all Fantastico does is install WordPress as if you'd done it yourself. However it saves you that hassle.

2) Certainly, all you'd need to do is update the nameservers on the domains to then ones we will send you in your welcome email.

3) Yes and yes.

4) I'm afraid not!

5) It might be technically possible, although there might be side effects with things like statistics and cPanel (our control panel system). It's therefore not really advisable.

6) A parked domain lets you add another domain to your account, however when someone goes to that domain it will simply show the content of your main/root account. An addon domain is better as it also allows you to host an additional domain on your account, however this domain can have its own unique content it wont just simply mirror your main domain.

All made sense at this end! Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Many thanks for the quick response!!

Answers are fine, I just want to ask about the subdomains. What can I do with them? Do they just redirect to the root of the domain they are a sub of??

Also do you have a minimum term on your hosting contracts??

Many Thanks

Gareth

Gareth,

Subdomains can host their own content. When you create a subdomain on our service a folder is created on your account where you can place files that will appear on that subdomain.

On most of our plans you can opt for a monthly contract, so that will be your minimum term. We also offer yearly contracts with additional benefits.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

That is just what I wanted to do with sub domains (Just don't think I explained it properly! :)

OK final question just as I am interested :) What are the additional benefits of a yearly contract??

Many Thanks

Gareth :)

Great - glad to have helped :)

Well that depends, in most cases it means you pay a discounted rate compared to if you paid monthly x 12 - we also offer a free domain name on our shared plans (excluding the Basic plan) if you go yearly.

Thanks,

Andrew

Andrew.

I am guessing I can move to yearly payment if I wanted after signing up as monthly?

Also I forgot to ask about MX records, Can I point these to you aswell so you can host the email for 1 of my domains and I can take advantage of the POP3 boxes?

I promise these are my final questions! :)

Many Thanks

Gareth

Gareth,

Yes and yes to both questions. However if you change your nameservers over to ours your email will automatically move to our service also as we'll control your MX record. We can of course point the MX record back to 1and1 if you want. Or you can leave the nameservers as 1and1's and simply change your DNS Zone at 1and1 to update the relevant parts to point to our servers.

Andrew
