Currently I have a domian name who's DNS and nameservers are controlled by 123-reg. I update the DNS to suit my needs...

I have created several 'A' records for www, webmail, test, mail.. etc
And have created an MX record with a priority of 5 pointing to mail.mydomian.co.uk.

The 'A' records all point to my IP address, where I host my own IIS server, Mail server, and webmail.

What I would like to do is:

Keep my own mail servers @ home (not use yours at all)

Have the main domain and 1 subdomain hosted by you, but have some other subdomains hosted by me...

Create another subdomain using you and point another domain I own to it. (web forwarding can be done via 123-reg)

Will all this work ? Can you explain how !! ??

Thanks

Tom,

Yes this wont be a problem. All you'll need to do is point the www and subdomain record to our shared IP and leave everything else as it is now!

Is there anyway I can get all this up and running without affecting the site as it is now.

Then once I'm happy, move it across ?

Yes, we give you temporary access to all of your sites features via an IP address, you can make sure everything is working fine on our servers then move the DNS across.

Last question...

Whats your upgrade policy ?

If I join with the basic package, what will it cost me to upgrade to the Adslguide package, if I need the extra bandwidth ?

Thanks

I'd have to whip out the ol' calculator and work our a pro-rated rate for the upgrade depending on when you decide to move!

Well, I'm sure phpBB would advise against this but I personally (having modded a lot of phpBB files) say it'll work yes, but might remove some security measures implemented by the phpBB team.

We'd restore it, you upload it as a .sql file we'll do the rest.

You can access the subdomain via IP/subdomain/ :)

Great! Your order will go in the verifications queue and should get setup within a few hours max!
