Heh, well that's the theory... looks like reality has a couple of hiccups though. :(

One of the databases had something up with it, so didn't copy.
That's simple enough to fix - I'll just export manually and exclude the corrupt tables.

A more irritating issue is that [some of] my email is being routed to my Yahoo! account rather than Gmail.
Or rather, it was earlier... I've fiddled a little and now not all my test messsages are getting through.

Haven't yet figured if it was because I'd left MX records around (removed now), or if I need to update some settings.

Oh well, I'm going to have a 'fun' evening tonight...

Peter,

It's not clear to me how copying your account could in any way affect where your email was being routed to gmail/yahoo wise :insane:

Hope you get all of these problems sorted.

Andrew

Yeah, I think/hope that's just a DNS/nameserver issue, and will sort itself out automatically.

It might have been because I had an account on my server for one of the addon domains from the pluto account, and when I copied it across perhaps there was confusion over whether it was a main account or addon or something else.
Also at one point I had yahoo as catch-all and filters to override that.

Simplest solution is probably to remove the addon domain, clear all filters, restore the addon, and then see where I'm at. :)

It would be worth pointing out that gmail is becoming stricter on using domain keys. This makes it more difficult to forward emails to your domain to gmail as the email doesn't come from an IP address that matches the email. More here: http://ask.slashdot.org/askslashdot/08/ ... 2240.shtml

Thanks, that's useful to know - I'll have to investigate the SRS/Sender Rewriting thing mentioned there to make sure forwarding works properly.
Currently I think emails are again arriving are ok (my assorted test messages are getting through, and a few non-test ones too), but at some point I'll have to experiment with SPF/SRS stuff.
