Reading this page...

http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=25876

Again it points to a possible problem with the '/tmp' folder.

That folder should be where php is installed - and not the one I can see via ftp'ing into the system.

Are you able to check if there are loads of files in it?

If you read the reply from [1 Apr 4:37pm CEST], it says clearing the files from that folder worked for him. The person after that confirmed that 'fix' worked for him too.

Hmm this may also be key:

session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user

phpinfo() returns that the storage module handler SHOULD be 'files', so why it's suddenly taken to using 'user' is beyond me!

I've added a line to my code to set it to 'files' manually. I'll keep checking the error log and see if it fixes it.

Well I've checked the error log and now I have a full 300 errors without any of those 'session_start' ones.

I guess that new line of code worked.

Would still be an idea to find out why it chose to use 'user' instead of 'files' when both local and global copies of the php ini stuff are set to 'files' !

As I say, nothing had been changed my end so it must be something that happened on your servers.

Cheers :)
