Hello all,

I have recently installed phpBB, and also tested Invision, all installed in the Cpanel via Fantasico. These boards works well, but I want more of a "portal" feel. I have tried editing/hacking what I've got, with limited success.

I would like to install a new system, Invision Portal; and I would like to check whether it is possible.

These are the requirements:

Internet Information Server 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0-5.1 and Active Server Pages or Personal Web Server and Active Server Pages

http://www.aspinvision.com/iportal/features.asp

This solution looks good to me, but please let me know if I should avoid it, or if there is a better alternative.

Thanks again

Carlos

This portal relies on ASP technology which is a Windows based product. Our servers run Linux - consequently it wont run on our servers.

There are many portals out there that will, take a look here: www.phpbbhacks.com

Hello Andrew,

Do you have any future plans to run Sun Java System Active Server Pages 4.0,

http://wwws.sun.com/software/chilisoft/

or is there not enough of a demand for it?

Thanks

Carlos

We have no plans to implement it yet because:

a) We couldn't support it adequately (it's a whole different technology)

b) It's not complete, it would cause us more problems then it would solve I suspect. Perhaps when it can give full ASP support we will review it again.
