Hi there

Not sure if this is in the right section or not. I currently run a domain called euroisme.org that's hosted by Invision, a forum software provider you've probably heard of before. They set up a single email account on the domain but we've been having a lot of problems with it filling up and becoming unusable. They've been really helpful but have said this..

"Since we don't really offer email services and you are having trouble here, perhaps it would be a good idea to setup mail for your domain at another provider etc, like google apps for example, they offer this for free for 10 accounts or less and also have very high size limits too. Then we can change your mx records here to send all mail to their servers.. Just worth mentioning in case that is of interest to you."

Is this something you guys could help with at all? I've got a reseller account - could the emails from the domain be bolted onto there somehow but the hosting still be left with Invision? I'm not sure how it all works so, forgive my ignorance. :)

cheers

Darren

Hi,

Yes this can be done, it's actually quite easy to do. You can just create a new account for the domain in question via your reseller account, once this is done you can create the email accounts you require in the newly created account's cPanel. Once you have these set up you can request they change the MX record to sun.solardns.com which is the name of your server, then emails will be delivered there.

Regards,

Darryl

Is it the "reseller" option I need to choose when creating the new account?

(I think I need to tidy up and clear some space) :)

Hi,

You should really create your own package(s) as they are just the default ones, if you go to the Add a Package section you can create a package with the requirements that you want, then use that one.

Darryl

ok, confused now. Tried that and now can't see it in the list of accounts. Does this work in a completely different way?

I've taken a look but it doesn't seem to have created the account, not quite sure what was done but when you create the account it should appear in the list just like any other, so I would try doing this again.

Regards,

Darryl

Now you have created the package you select it when creating the new account, apart from choosing that package it's the same as creating any other account, I'm not sure which bit you are having difficulty with here, can you perhaps elaborate as to what the issue is?
