Hi,

When setting up a new addon domain or subdomain at first I tend to sort out DNS and then check it is pointing to the right server. Whereupon the browser is redirected to /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi which is fair enough. However the redirect appears to be a 301 instead of a 302 which is a bit of a pain as it gets cached by Firefox. OK I remembered how to clear the cache eventually but is it possible to change these redirects so they don't get cached?

Ta!

Hi,

This is not something we can change I'm afraid.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hmmmm I feared as much. Well, I have at least found the correct Clear Cache option in Firefox now.

And an excuse to say... hi!

Best,

Hi,

It does the same in IE aswell, so presume it is the same for all browsers, and need to clear the history/cache

Yes I think that browsers started to cache 301 redirects a couple of years back. The behaviour seems reasonable... not sure without checking headers how long until the cPanel generated redirect expires. I would say this is a cPanel bug really since it is reasonable to expect a "default website page" to be replaced at some stage...
