I'm sure everyone has seen it, but I really can't believe this still :ohno:

85% of people currently thing it's rubbish according to the attached poll. It cost £400,000 to design! Did they not pitch it to any focus groups at all?

It's not often my apathy level rises above the threshold needed to partake in online polls but in this instance I'm definitely in there with the rest of the 85%.

On the same site you can already view a number of ideas which seem to better capture the spirit of the enterprise and are also considerably more memorable.



(I particularly like the one which hints at the genesis of the chosen offering.)

and it took a year to design.....allegedly. I guess for £400,000 I'd drag it out for a while too.

I've yet to see a yellow one, fearful that it WILL look like Lisa Simspon in a sex act :rofl:



of course one look and you will be thinking the official line:

"the logo is "modern and will be dynamic, evolving in the years between now and 2012" and furthermore "symbolises the Olympic spirit and the ability of the Games to inspire people to take part - not just as spectators, but as volunteers, in the Cultural Olympiad and more".

Obviously.
