I knocked up a temporary page last night for a new website that is coming along soon and I can't work out why my client is seeing an odd white space issue that I can't. We're both using the same browser (IE7), they've cleared their temp files, and I don't think it's a caching issue. I don't see it in Firefox either. Here's the link:

http://www.abbottandlong.com/

Look down at the Wrap It Up section and the space underneath the photo of the tissue wrapped parcel with a turquoise bow should be the same as the space above - about 20px or so. They are seeing a much bigger space than I am - over 3x bigger - which looks to them like:

Any ideas anyone because I'm stumped!

I don't get the space here in FF or IE7. Weird.

Works as intended here in IE7 & FF3 running on both Vista and XP as well as Google Chrome on XP and - as I'm sure you'll be gratified to hear - IE6 on Windows 98. I guess that, taken along with the other reports, seems to point to some kind of environmental/version issue.

If you really do need to 'fix' it at source then I guess my suggestion would be to try pulling the image 115957.jpg out of the enclosing paragraph and float it left with appropriate borders/padding in order to at least lose the align (deprecated) & hspace attributes.

You might have to run IE Web Developer toolbar on the client's PC to get to the bottom of this but maybe easier just to float the image.

As if by magic, the problem has mysteriously disappeared! Oh well - thanks to all for the help.

@petethegeek: On every site I do I always start out with the best of intentions then as I get towards the end and time is running short I slack off and throw in the odd align statement here and there! :p
