Hi,
I'm registering new .sch.uk domain with nominet. According to the relevant webpage (http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-nam ... me/schools) this has to be done in writing rather than usual process through the isp. I believe the requested "Registrar’s (hosting ISP’s) tag" is NETHOSTED. Can you confirm this is correct and that proceeding with this in writing to Nominet is the correct procedure.
Thanks,
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I can confirm that our IPStag is: NETHOSTED and that it does appear you must make your application in writing direct to Nominet.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi,

Now that the school name is registered with nominet with NETHOSTED as the IPStag, I have created a package for this domain. The package doesn't include a website as this is going to be hosted elsewhere (I haven't been told where yet).

As part of trying to sign the school up for Office 365, I have added a txt record to dns. So far neither this record or any other dns records seem to be detectable through tools such as http://mxtoolbox.com/ which means microsoft also won't be able to make their domain validity check.

I can't see anything else that I can turn on / off to make this happen. Is there something more I need to do or that you or nominet need to do?

Thanks,
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

At this stage your domain has not completed it's move to us. I have now added this domain to your account so nameserver can be assigned (I have done this also).

Hopefully now services will be able to pick up on the records as expected. Bear in mind some of these services will cache results.

Thanks,

Andrew

Thanks Andrew. Is that something I could have done from the WHM or the domain control panel?

Hi Nigel,

No, this is something we had to do at our end.

Thanks,

Andrew
